Utilities Fleet Disposal
Utility fleets are specified, not bought off the forecourt. Racking, power supplies, beacons, safety equipment and welfare provision are built in, and disposal has to handle both the equipment and the compliance expectations that come with a regulated operator.
Vehicles we typically handle for utilities operators
Every sector runs a recognisable vehicle mix, and the buyers who want those vehicles are not the same in each case. For utilities the mix is usually:
- Racked and converted panel vans
- Welfare and mess vehicles
- Tippers and dropsides for groundworks
- 4x4 pickups for rural network access
- Crew vans carrying jointing and repair teams
Why utility fleets dispose
Framework contracts run to fixed terms and the vehicles specified for them are released when the term ends. Alongside that, decarbonisation targets are pushing diesel fleets out earlier than their natural replacement point.
- Framework contract end
- Fleet electrification programmes
- Network reorganisation and depot changes
Equipment, branding and data
Telematics units, fuel cards, network branding and any operational data must come off before sale — we build that into the collection process and confirm removal in writing. Racking and power conversions usually stay fitted because they raise the price.
- Telematics removed and returned
- Livery and network branding removed
- Written confirmation per registration
Getting the right buyers in front of your vehicles
Sector-specific vehicles sell best to the trade buyers who need that exact build. Through the EAMA Group auction network your utilities vehicles are presented to a national base of dealers, operators and specialists rather than a single trade buyer making one offer — which is where the value difference on converted and equipped vehicles comes from.

Frequently Asked Questions
We need evidence that branding and telematics were removed — can you provide it?
Yes. Removal is recorded per registration and confirmed in your disposal report.
Are welfare and specialist conversions saleable?
Yes. Welfare units in particular have a strong specialist buyer base and generally out-perform an equivalent plain panel van.
Is there a minimum number of vehicles?
No. We handle single vehicles and rolling programmes of hundreds, though anything over about five is usually planned as a staged disposal.
How much does collection cost?
Collection is included across mainland UK, including recovery for vehicles that cannot be driven.
